Frequently Asked Quesitons
I'm interested in a roll-off dumpster, how do I get a price quote?
Please call us at (309) 275-3649 for a price quote on roll-off dumpsters. We have 10, 20, and 30 yard roll-off dumpsters available to rent. In order to give you an accurate price quote, we will want to know where the dumpster is to be delivered, what size you need, and what you will be putting in the dumpster.
I want to get a bid for a demolition project I have coming up, who do I talk to?
Tom Kirk is our estimator and demolition project manager. Please call him at (309) 261-6893 to set up an appointment to evaluate your property and needs for demolition. Tom can also be reached via email at kcdr18@yahoo.com.
What are my responsibilities as a building owner before demolition?
Kirk C & D Recycling, Inc. is happy to work with you every step of the way during building demolition. Owners are generally responsible for the following:
Initiating the process of contacting all utilities for disconnects. When contacting utilities, you will want to request a "disconnect for demolition," as this is different than a disconnect for other purposes. The utilities that must be contacted are Nicor Gas, Ameren IP (or Cornbelt Electric), Comcast Cable, Verizon, and the local water department.
Prior to obtaining a demolition permit, all utility bills for the property must be paid in-full.
Determine the future use of the property. This will dictate how the water line will be disconnected as well as final excavation of the job site.
Arranging asbestos inspections, as needed. For all commerical buildings, the building must be inspected by a licensed asbestos inspector for any asbestos-containing materials prior to demolition. If ACM is found, it must be abated prior to demolition as required by the Illinois EPA.
How do I contact all the utilities for disconnects?
Our best recommendation is to have your account information handy from a recent bill and a little bit of time to call each utility company. If you are having particular difficulty making contact, please call our office at (309) 829-5021 and ask for Christine. She can assist you in contacting the utility company.
